Piccolo Route
23 June 2019
The Piccolo is the shortest route of the Dartmoor Classic Sportive. This route is intended specifically for those who are new to cycling, young riders who need to be accompanied by an adult, mature cyclists who have reached an age where they are no longer physically able to take on the longer routes, or those who have a disability preventing them from riding the longer routes. The Piccolo route is restricted to a maximum of 400 participants to ensure new cyclists are not intimidated by the higher volumes of cyclists. Minimum age of entry is 12 years.
This year, the Piccolo route will NOT have age and gender category times. All finishers will receive the same Finishers Medal regardless of time. All participants will still be required to finish before 17:30 hrs.
Participants who enter the longer routes will not be permitted to drop down to the Piccolo route unless they have a medical reason to do so and there is space available.
Anyone who opts to switch down to the Piccolo after they have started will be recorded as a DNF on the Results Sheet.
