The Medio Route is the most popular route of the Dartmoor Classic Sportive. It is open to anyone age 15 years or over or youths aged 13 years and over provided they are accompanied by a fee paying adult. Medio Route entries are restricted to a maximum of 2000.
The Medio Route is electronically chip timed. Gold, Silver or Bronze medals are awarded to all finishers against age and gender category time limits.
The Medio Route is 67 miles (109 km) and has approximately 6,200ft (1,883 meters) of elevation. There are five notable climbs. They are Trendlebere Down, Beckaford Hill, Holne Hill, Merripit Hill and Doccombe Hill. The maximum gradient on the route is 20%.
The first 1.9 miles and the last 2.5 miles of the course are neutralized. This means that these sections are NOT timed and are discounted from the medal standard finish times. Riders are set off in 'Start Waves' and each group of rider will be escorted out of Newton Abbot for the first 1.9 miles. At the finish, riders are encouraged to use the last 2.5 miles from the finish towers to warm down.
Beckaford Hill is a closed road and includes a STRAVA King & Queen of the Mountain segment challenge.
There is one Feed Station at Princetown (34 miles | 55 km).
